SPINODYSSEY Check Presentation to Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital.
Whittingham has been the local recipient of Funds raised at the SPINODYSSEY SPINNING
Event for most of it's 10 year involvement. Whittingham Cancer Center does Clinical Trials
that benefit the cause that the SPINODYSSEY and now ZUMBAODYSSEY are in existance
to effect BREAST CANCER RESEARCH!

SPINODYSSEY Volunteers presented a $25,000 to Norwalk Hospital recently forbreast cancer research and hospital officials commended them for theiroutstanding efforts on behalf of breast cancer patients. From left are: Phoenix Kovacs of Stamford, SPINODYSSEY Chairman Patty Kondub of Westport,Dr. Richard Frank of Fairfield, director of cancer research for the Whittingham Cancer Center, Dr. Richard Zelkowitz of Westport, a medical hematologist and oncologist with the Cancer Center and director of the Smilow Family Breast Health Center at Norwalk Hospital, SPINODYSSEY Board Member Sarah Binderberger of Norwalk, Linda Versea, APRN, MSN, of Fairfield, administrative manager of Cancer Service at Norwalk Hospital, Mary Franco of New Canaan, president of the
Norwalk Hospital Foundation, Karen Bua of Tarrytown, New York, tumor registrar,
and SPINODYSSEY Board Member Norm Trepner of Westport.
This donation included registration fees, SPINODYSSEY Shop sales and Silent Auction proceeds.
The SPINODYSSEY event, which is 100 percent volunteer run, will take place on March 7, 2010 at INTENSITY, 490 Westport Avenue in Norwalk, and has a goal of raising $350,000 from all the activities and pledges related to the event.
